Our first stop on this amazing tour is Qoricancha, Temple of the Sun. This was one of the most important buildings to the Incas, dedicated to the Sun and whose interior walls, it has been written, were covered in thick sheets of gold.

You will then continue to the Plaza de Armas and Cathedral, at the heart of Inca Cusco. Here you can see the best work of the Cusquenian painters. Then you'll continue up to the Sacsayhuaman a magnificent military fortress strategically located high above the city. This fortress guarded the capital of Cusco and is famous for its huge carved rocks, aligned with an amazing precision.

Finally, the adventure continues towards two archaeological ritual sites, Sacsayhuaman and Quenco where the Incas were enlightened surrounded by an intricate network of platforms, niches and pools that to date continue to flow with water from springs in the highlands.

Coricancha Temple
In Incan times, Coricancha’s walls were covered with 700 solid gold 2 Kg plates.

Catedral del Cusco
Cusco’s cathedral was built in 1539 and its design draws from Latin styles with a renaissance front contrasting with baroque insides.

Qenqo Ruins
Qengo means maze or zigzag and was once the ceremonial center of Cusco. Within it is an amphitheater with 19 vaulted niches and an entrance leading to subterranean galleries. Canals line the top of the wall along from which water flows amongst engraved dancing figures.

Pucapucara Tower
Pucapucara means strong or red fortress and from this elevated ancient center you can see the road to Antisuyo or jungle region of Tahuantinsuyo.

Tambomachay Baths
Tambomachay was once an important center of cultural and religious significance. It is composed of walls, windows and water canals that end up in a trapezoidal lake that gushes crystalline water. It is at 3,700 metres above sea level and it is better known as the Inca's Restrooms.

Sacsayhuaman complex
Sacsayhuaman is the relic of where Incans would perform sacred rites and ceremonies. This fortress served also as refuge when the city was under siege thanks to the imposing outer walls that protect the place. The traditional ceremony of IntiRaymi, or ‘Ceremony of the Sun’ is still celebrated here to this day.
