In South India you now have the wonderful chance to experience Yoga in its most ancient home and form. If you study and practise this in your home country, or if you're just curious to find out more about it, we highly recommend you to enrol for add-on activity!

Yoga is certainly not just about attaining seemingly awkward bodily postures! It is an Indian spiritual path aimed at achieving the union with the Supreme Consciousness. A few Yoga’s go beyond it and aim at the spiritual transformation of the entire human nature and obtaining immortality, even for the physical body. A practitioner of Yoga is called a Yogi (male) or Yogini (female). Outside India, Yoga is mostly associated with the practice of asanas (postures) of Hatha Yoga or as a form of exercise.

There are many branches of Yoga: Raja, Hatha, Jnana, Karma, Bhakthi, Mantra, Kundalini and Lava. The Yoga that you will be taught is Hatha Yoga and this is the most popular branch of Yoga in the West. This branch of Yoga uses Asana, Pranayama and Meditation to help achieve harmony through balance, improve flexibility and the release of stress.

Meditation is a mind-body practice and you'll learn to relax your body and mind and create a focused awareness to bring you stillness and inner peace.

Your lessons will be conducted at the home of a lady teacher who has more than 7 years' experience as a Yoga Practitioner and Trainer.

Please note that the cost of transport is not provided in the price. Your accommodation may be within walking distance of where the yoga classes are held or a short distance away by auto.

These courses in Yoga and Meditation comprise one 1-hour lesson per day, Monday to Friday only. The 2 week course will consist of the following:

  • Asanas (posture)

  • Pranayama

  • Kriya

  • Meditation

The 4 and 8 week courses will consist of:

  • Asanas (posture)

  • Surya Namaskar

  • Pranayama

  • Kriya

  • Meditation
